Demand Control: IPLC Pro
Intelligent Peak Load Controller (iPLC-pro)
The iPLC-pro’s compact design and its powerful processor make it an ideal solution for both commercial and industrial load control applications. Easy installation in new or existing network infrastructures and BMS installations with communication options such as BACnet, Modbus, Mbus, and OPC protocols makes it a highly cost-effective solution.
The core of the iPLC is a very powerful processor with an integrated web server. It is available in versions suitable for 32,128, 512 or 2048 inputs/outputs. It contains three RS 232/485 serial interfaces for field bus connections and is also available with integrated Ethernet interfaces. Data communication is possible with a central computer, without a PC in a master to master mode, or from master to slave in a multi-master operation.
The master module is equipped with integrated memory and a real-time clock. Freely programmable control algorithms guarantee high flexibility to link input and output signals to each other in any way required. Future loads can be integrated easily at the master level or with common field bus technology if there is no BMS available.
Dynamic Trending is performed with instantaneous load calculations, establishing necessary correction factors in order to optimize the load within the preset target value of the imposed utility interval. Expensive demand peaks are prevented without jeopardizing building operations.
Modular architecture provides for scalable installation and easy expansion. More than 2000 analog and digital input/output points are available for additional loads, meters, temperatures, alarm points, etc.
Real-time data display and analysis allow live feedback from meters and loads. The iPLC controls algorithms constantly, monitors all demand control variables, and curtails loads only when necessary. All energy data is centralized to a common database for easy analysis.
The iPLC-visual software is highly customizable. The most complex operations and processes can be easily integrated and visualized. The software is based on a well-proven process control system concept that evolved over the last 20 years into a powerful energy management and demand control software.
In comparison to common building management systems and other process control systems, the iPLC visual offers a vast array of additional functionality geared to intelligent peak load control.

Some of these functions are:
- Peak load optimization and trending within imposed utility interval
- Instantaneous power monitoring and reporting
- Monthly target settings reflect utility billing cycle
- User defined configuration of individual load parameters
- Online savings reports for kW, kWh, CO2 savings and cost avoidance
- Remote system access and alarm management
- Utility grid management functions
